ITS JEWELRY COMPETITION 2013
If there is a field in the fashion world where young talents are almost completely unknown this is certainly JEWELRY. There is an incredible amount of young JEWELRY designers out there - coming from dedicated schools, specialised courses or totally independent - working on their own small productions or hoping to be supported and work for big brands. ITS JEWELRY is meant to highlight the most promising among them and give them the same level of support provided with the fashion, accessories and photography competitions.
SWAROVSKI ELEMENTS is the premium brand for the finest crystal elements manufactured by Swarovski and is the main partner of ITS JEWELRY, providing all jewelry finalists with SWAROVSKI ELEMENTS for their collections. 10 jewelry designers will be selected for the finals. They will come to Trieste, Italy on 12-13 July 2013 and their jewelry projects will be displayed in a dedicated static exhibition. ITS 2013 will showcase the most interesting and youngest expressions of creativity in the jewelry field. Finalists will compete for the SWAROVSKI ELEMENTS Jewelry Award: €10,000 + a 6-month internship.
Swatch, launched in 1983 by Nicolas G. Hayek, is a leading Swiss watch maker and one of the world's most popular brands. The first Swatch watches surprised everyone with their revolutionary concept, creative design and provocative spirit. Swatch is the new partner of ITS JEWELRY and will involve the selected jewelry finalists in a special project, which will be presented in July during the finals. The winner of the Swatch Award will receive €5,000 and will have the opportunity to collaborate with the brand.
TIMELINE
- 22 March 2013: Deadline to enrol
- Mid-April 2013: Pre-selection of finalists
- 12-13 July 2013: Finals in Trieste
ITS is a bridge between fashion schools and the fashion industry and all of the work placements, internships and special projects granted to the finalists after the event to prove it. We collaborate regularly with brands like Diesel (of course), Antonio Marras, MaxMara, Armani and Viktor & Rolf, to mention just a few.
