Mareunrol Win Hyères Festival 2009!!

The 24th edition of the Hyères Festival (24, 25 and 26 April 2009) saw the huge success of ITS#SIX finalists Rolands Peterkops and Marite Mastina, a talented fashion design duo known as "Mareunrol".
We had already seen their new collection "Private Detective" enrolled in ITS#SEVEN last year (Barbara totally loved it but the Preselections Jury in the end decided not to include them), and in Barcelona this year in March. Talking with them in Barcelona they told us they had enrolled in the Hyères Festival. But we didn't expect such a success, even though it's more than well deserved! Rolands and Marite grabbed the two most important prizes, namely the €15,000 Jury Award and the €15,000 prize given by French fashion brand "1.2.3" that will give them the chance to design a mini collection.
"Private Detective" plays with the stereotypes of the noir movie, and it was actually also presented with an incredible short movie and an amazing professional photo shoot that, according to what we've been told, really stunned the Jury. Mareunrol communicate their fashion vision through several media, and that's what makes them different.
