Yuima's New Collection

Winner of the YKK Award at ITS#EIGHT Yuima Nakazato (Yuima was also fashion finalist at ITS#SEVEN where he won the Vertice Award...) has recently presented his new accessories collection for Spring Summer 2010!
As you can see from the pictures, the focus of the collection is on the flat shoe concept that granted Yuima the YKK Award at ITS#EIGHT. The circular piece you see in a couple of pictures is nothing but the shoe the model wears in the other shots. Concept for this shoe is connected to the bodypieces collection Yuima presented for ITS#ACCESSORIES: Everything starts from a flat, circular surface, which turns into a shoe through a series of zips and fastenings which give it three dimensional structure to cover the foot like a boot.
Yuima's collection was presented during the final day of Tokyo Fashion Week in the end of October. Presenting their latest work together with Yuima were also ITS#FIVE fashion finalist and winner of the Fashion Special Prize Mikio Sakabe and ITS#THREE winner of Fashion Special Prize and INGEO Sustainability Award Yoshikazu Yamagata.
There's another very interesting thing though: the pictures of Yuima's presentation of his new collection were shot by MINI Clubman Photo Award winner at ITS#SEVEN Kazutaka Nagashima! Most Japanese ITS finalists know each other and they often collaborate on projects. We've already seen such collaborations in the past, but this time it's somehow more special since it's finalists from different fields! It really means a lot to us to see a photography finalist work with a fashion finalist...We love making such connections possible!
