What I want you to focus on is the moments before the launch of the rocket. A handful of seconds in which all of those minds in the control room were probably thinking the same thing...but we'll come back to this later. |

 First of all: ladies and gentlemen, it is with a real pleasure that we present to you ITS#FIVE. You are looking at it, you are reading it, and every time you will click on this website, or leave a comment in the guestbook, you will be part of it in your own small way. And if you are one of those who will enroll in one of the contests, you will share the dream of hundreds of others who hope to build a life out of creativity. For those of you who know nothing about us, we are International Talent Support, a platform for the young creatives in the world who look for a place where they can liberate their creativity...show it and share it with other creative minds, and meet people who can help them go on in producing always more creativity. Looking back, it was indeed a long and hard road, full of hard work but also great satisfaction. It all started in the mind of a tiny yet determined human being who presented herself with a project at the door of who could help her bring it to life. The project was ITS, and who listened and decided that the project deserved support was Diesel. An event of this kind needs great support from sponsors that believe in the project.Thanks to Diesel, who has been the presenting partner of the event from the very start, ITS lives and goes on. In the first three editions, ITS searched for creativity in fashion design. Starting with ITS#FOUR, the search of creativity extended to the field of photography with ITS#PHOTO (take a look at the article on the new projects to find out more about what will happen in this field at ITS#FIVE). Diesel, for whom creativity is the core of its philosophy, supports from the beginning the fashion talents discovered by ITS with the Diesel Award, a prize that gives one of the finalists of ITS and incredible opportunity: the chance to design and produce their own capsule collection, which will be then sold in the 7 most important Diesel stores in the world, with their own name on the tag and events to communicate their collection to the press. Four young creatives have won this prize so far, and four Diesel capsule collections have been produced and distributed. They are the tangible proof of Diesel's interest in creativity, which is also the strongest bond between this visionary company and ITS. They have decided to walk this road with us, and we will be happy to always have them at our side. |

Now with ITS#FIVE the plot changes and thickens. ITS is no more an International Contest for young fashion designers and photographers. ITS is a platform for young creatives, a big house where different fields of creativity coexist. ITS#FIVE has three fields: ITS#FASHION, ITS#ACCESSORIES (a new field!! read about it in the article on the new projects) and ITS#PHOTO, each with their own competition and prizes. But these three fields are only the beginning of a long journey that will take us on the search of creativity on a larger scale...we are pointing our eyes to the sky, and hope to open a lot more fields in the future.... And this takes us back to what all of the minds in the control room of the Apollo 11 mission were probably thinking. A rocket on the launch platform ready for ignition and take off. Months, maybe years spent on calculations, on studying all different possibilities. Thirty, twenty-nine, twenty-eight, twenty-seven...other missions before that, all representing a step towards the final goal....nineteen, eighteen, seventeen, sixteen..."did I check that final data on the computer? what did it say? are the LEDs on my control panel all ok?": final thrills that have no answer....ten, nine, eight..."I hope that everyone has done their job right, my ass is sitting here under tons of propellent and there's at least a thousand things that can go wrong": trust in those who have worked for you....five, four, three, two, one.... We are pointing to the sky. We want to fly and break the barriers. ITS#FIVE is a step that we hope will take us far. "Houston, Tranquility Base here. The Eagle has landed" |
