ITS#ACCESSORIES in Milan and Paris
October 16, 2006
| After the summer the accessories, which enhanced the magic magenta wood at ITS#FIVE for the first ITS#ACCESSORIES contest, hit the road and travelled to be shown at two important european fairs. The partnership with YKK let the students' creations circulate in two important sectorial appointments, giving them the chance to be appreciated by the qualified visitors of the two events, in two different weekends in mid September . First at Moda In in Milan, from 12 to 15, and then at Mod'Amont in Paris, the YKK stands hosted in two special corners the inspired works of the finalists who used the materials provided by the YKK in a complete and idea-stimulating-"magic box" to create an original accessory. In these way an international audience, coming from different nations, involved in all the fashion industry sectors and in others such as design, packaging, automotive, took a glimpse of the projects our last year's finalists. |
Moda In, that reached this year edition fortysix, became since 2005 part of Milano Unica, The Italian Textile Fair, uniting 5 prestigious Italian textile fairs (Ideabiella, Ideacomo, Moda In, Prato Expo Shirt) which, for decades, had presented the finest in Italian and European textiles on separate occasions. In this space the ITS#FIVE accessories became alive, being included in a circus performance which actually used them as part of the show. Mod'Amont, international fair for trimmings and supplies for fashion, took place the following weekend in Paris, attracting about 18000 visitors wandering through over 260 exhibitors, and introducing seven forums dedicated to specific areas. |

Also in this case, confirming the additional strength gained in putting efforts and energies together, Mod'Amont is part of a larger situation, Premiere Vision Pluriel, which include other fairs: Expofil, Premiere Vision, La Cuir a Paris and Indigo, for a total of over 1500 expositors. In this small "fall tour" one of the core missions of ITS philosophy had concrete application: the idea of going beyond the yearly event to permit our talented students to spread their work and imagination in different contexts and to get in touch with the fashion professionals, in order to make their potentiality express in a wide set of possible ways. |
