Press articles, tv reports and media features in general when describing an event tend normally to focus on several precise aspects... prizes, jury, V.I.P. fashion guests and all the most appealing details for readers/viewers. For finalists the entire process starts from the moment they receive the news they have been selected (or better starts in the moment they decide to apply), after months of developing their projects (not forgetting they are involved with their tight school schedules at the same time), finally give birth to their collection/projects which come to life from their sketches and inspirations and put all the strength and imaginative creativity to go further in their showing their talent. |
 This year, during the event, a video production house sent a troupe to eyewitness with the realization of a documentary how the finalists actually live their days in Trieste, from their arrival at rehearsals, stressful presentation in front of the jury, and on to the crucial day. The Peperosso team has in this way been constantly present throughout all the different situations involving the students in these days, trying to capture sensations, feelings and all the aspects perceived in living the final chapter of a peculiar international event like this. Following closely some finalists, the documentary, which will be televised worldwide on Fashion TV satellite channel, shows a blend of hard work, impressive catwalk atmosphere, city shots, opinions, dreams, ambitions and touching personal stories. This represents authentically the balance of ITS, between tough, focused work and human dimensions and relationships that is the other necessary component in our vision of ITS "mission".. |
It is very interesting to hear the contestants voices and thoughts, because in the documentary they are able to describe themselves, speaking certainly about their skills as designers (or photographers), but also their personalities and stories that influence their style and their reference frame of expression. It is clear that individual experiences and life path leads to a certain interpretation of reality and its own contradictions, filtered by cultural and personal inputs, and all these influences result in what the students express. The fear, the emotional boost of a great chance, the impact of meeting such renowned figures who are part of the system the students one day dream to join (or maybe to change...), the real international "community" that every year populates Trieste in hot summer days are an explosive mix. |

This mix makes Barbara and the ITS team carry on, make the partners get involved, makes the press and guests want to participate and, most important, stimulates students and schools from all over the world (over 800 in the Fashion area) to try to follow this possibility. Thanks to the idea of this documentary there will be another chance of catching some of the many faces of our magenta magic prism....
