It's a Dirty Job, but Someone Has To Do It
June 28, 2007

It is nice to be supported. That lovely feeling that what we are and what we do is understood and backed by others. Over the past year, ITS has dramatically increased its number of partners, sponsors and supporters. The values and the creativity that are unique characteristics of the event are shared by many and attract them. Everybody wants to fit in. Everybody wants to join our mission. Everybody wants to support us in supporting young talents from around the world.

The role of technical supporter is often underestimated. People think that it is hard to find space for them in a event. The partners rule. Normally main and golden partners brand their investments and the place they drop their big money with fire letters leaving space for no one else.
Not for us. And this is what makes ITS different. There is a place and a reason for everybody. Every element of the ITS equation knows exactly how important the other ones are.
In fact, our technical supporters are crucial to the event, they help us take ITS to high quality standards. As you should know already, we are organising an accessories competition. Shoes are probably the queens of the accessories kingdom: sexy, sophisticated, smoothly arched and very, very pricey to produce. Shoe prototypes can cost around 2,000 euros, and I am not talking about a pair of shoes, I am talking about one single (useless in this case) shoe! As you can guess, for a student, it is difficult to produce a high quality shoe (a piece of art in itself) given the resources they have. One can be inspired by divine intervention, his or her hand can be driven by the spirit of the times designing on paper every woman's dream. But to create and produce the shoe is about money and know-how. And look at who is ITS technical supporter in this case. Salvatore Ferragamo Italia. The shoe legend. In Ferragamo lies the hope, actually the certainty, that what we will show in the ITS#ACCESSORIES exhibition is going to be the best manufactured translation from sketches on paper to the actual shoe. And all this by having given shoe designers the chance to interact and to get to know one of the best producing company's in the shoe industry.

When we met the people from Puntoseta we knew we had met our match. Somebody that loves young creativity as much as we do. Puntoseta is a high profile textile brand and what they did was invite ITS finalists and former finalists to play with fabrics customisation, free of charge, at their facilities in Como, the Italian jewel for fabrics and prints. All their staff and machines for our young ones, an incredible professional experience.
And last but not least in our hearts is IFF. They came on board to enrich the sensory experience during ITS#SIX. Their realm is the one connected to the nose. Essences, fragrances, smells will be used as musical notes to create dreamy atmospheres, playing with the various meanings of the kaleidoscope. Thanks to IFF, the sensorial spectrum will be covered and we will be able to give the ultimate lifestyle experience to ITS guests.

There is a new meaning for the word Technical Supporter in the dictionary: very precious and beloved key-member of the ITS family.
