Calling all textile print designers!!!

For all you print designers enthusiastic about digital and fancy sixth months paid work experience in Italy, look no further. Together with Friulprint we have conjured up a project to tantalise your talents.

We are looking for enthusiastic designers that love and are colour confident, very artistic and able to create designs suitable for digital print and are interested in experimenting and learning more about digital printing.
It is a chance to put your skills to the test. You will be able to create freely inspired collection that will be taken Premier Vision bearing your name with all the support and guidance needed.

Friulprint located in northeast Italy is a fabric print company with a long list of clients including Armani, Ferre', Ugo Boss, Paul Smith, Zara, Fashion Ink, Max Mara, Nina Ricci, YSL, Marina Rinaldi, Trussardi, Veste Bene, Louis Vuitton.

They are offering two 6 month work experiences, the first work experience running from September 2008 - February 2009 and the second February - July 2009. And you will not have to go further into debt as it is paid.

The work experience will include:
  • accommodation
  • a monthly contribution of Eur 1000 (net)
  • return flights to Italy (from UK)
  • during the six months you will work on creating a print collection that will be presented at Premier Vision under your own name
If you are interested in applying you must prepare a complete portfolio of your work containing:
  • graduate collection
  • previous and current work
  • research and inspirational images
  • other material, although we are specifically looking for candidates that are interested in digital print they can include other material of past work, for example artistic sketches
  • a personal statement explaining their creative process
  • CV
  • all of the above must also be saved on dvd/cd
  • signed copy of the application form

IMPORTANT - If required to give a description of the package contents, write that the package contains documents only, and be sure to declare a value of less than Eur 25 to avoid customs fees. EVE will not pay for any packages that require payment upon receipt, they will be returned to sender. You don't want that to happen! If you are sending your portfolio from outside the European Union, please find out ahead of time if you are subject to pay customs fees and be sure to pay them.

Where
The company is located in a quaint small town called Tarcento in north-east Italy so if you love the city it could be a long six months - so take this into consideration before sending your work. Check out Friulprint website to find out more about the company.

Selection Process From all the applications that arrive, a small jury consisting of representatives from Friulprint and EVE srl will select 4-8 candidates to be interviewed here in Trieste. Travel and accommodation costs will be covered by Friulprint. The results of selections will be communicated via email no later than the 5th June.
