A fashion show can sometimes appear like quite a simple thing to organise. Models, lights, clothes and fancy music. This happens especially when everything runs as it should, that is smoothly and with no mistakes. Ever seen a gymnast execute a triple vault in the air and land gently on the ground, and have the feeling it was the simplest thing on earth? That's because behind that performance lie hours and hours of training that pay attention to the slightest detail, in order to transform that movement from the most complicated one to the most natural. Every muscle, every tendon is part of an "ensemble" that strives for perfection. When you don't want mistakes, there's only one rule, and it's the same for everyone, from the gymnast to the person responsible for a fashion show: even the smallest detail has to be taken care of.
Among the many different aspects of a fashion show, hairstyling and make-up are certainly among the most visible ones for the public and they also have vital importance in communicating the style and mood of a collection. When the models have their hair and make up that the fashion designer had in mind, the concept of the collection obviously stands out more. Therefore the role of hair stylists and make up artists therefore is to understand the mood and style that the designer wants, to come up with solutions that match these needs as much as possible

With much experience in fashion and fashion shows, the L'Oreal Professionel team always knows how to create what a designer has in mind. We are really surprised, year after year, by the level of preparation of their hair stylists and how they talk with our finalists and our show director to have all the information they need in order to do their job in the best possible way. Also, they adapt themselves to our needs as much as possible, demonstrating much appreciated flexibility which is essential for us, especially because we have an average of 18-20 fashion collection that are so different from each other.
Patricia Milton - our supplier for Make Up - is no different. Based in Italy, it stands among the leaders in innovation and professionality in modern cosmetics. The main mission is quality and constant improvement of their products. By the way, at ITS we use only a small part of their product range, since Patricia Milton produces a whole variety of skin and body products, from sun screens to body creams and more. With a background in pharmaceuticals, make-up is just a small part of what they do. Their high level products are teamed up with highly trained make-up artists who know exactly how to get the best out of the products they are using, all the while matching the needs of the fashion designer and show director.

Talking with our show director about it, she confirmed the dedication of both L'Oreal Professionel hair stylists and Patricia Milton make-up artists: "I was impressed by their level of felixibility in trying to find the best solution for both me (in terms of lighting and global outcome of the show) and the designers. They paid the utmost attention to everything the designers told them about their collections. They were never afraid to ask because they wanted to be sure they had all the necessary information to do their job professionally. And they really did, in the end."
