LAUNCH & CONCEPT ITS 2012

January 23, 2012

So this is it! We're back on board, we're ready to rumble, ready to search and fight for the most promising talents in the world once again! We've left the decade anniversary behind us and now a new chapter of our story begins. The name has changed: we won't be using progressive numbers anymore, so it won't be ITS#ELEVEN. The next edition will be ITS - International Talent Support 2012. Of course, the 11th edition of ITS. We are also working on a new logo and are eliminating the "#" sign from all our communication...As said, this is a new adventure, a new start for us! On very solid grounds, though.

The first thing you might want to do is to nail down the dates for this year on your calendar! Enrolment in ITS 2012 will be open until 23 March, so you've got two months to prepare your material to enrol. You can follow these direct links to read the entry requirements and begin your enrolment procedures for ITS FASHION, ITS ACCESSORIES,ITS PHOTO and ITS JEWELRY. In mid/end of April preselections will take place, with the juries for the 4 competitions coming to our offices to Trieste to view the entries of all contestants and select the finalists. So by the end of April the 11TH Generation of ITS will be unveiled!

The Finals of ITS 2012 will be held on 13 - 14 July in Trieste, Italy!

This could be a unique opportunity for you, we'll never stop saying this: enrolling in ITS means your portfolio will be viewed from some of the most important figures in the business: renowned designers, celebrated photographers and jewellers, opinion leaders, buyers, headhunters, companies...all of them will view your work. It's not like publishing your material on some database online and hoping someone will see it. By enrolling in ITS (with no fees apart from the costs to prepare your portfolio and ship it to us) you can be totally positive that your material will be seen by the above-mentioned people. This makes it a step you shouldn't miss in your career, because it could turn into a life-changing experience, it could help you open those doors which appeared to be locked. Have a look at what's happened to a great number of ITS finalists after their participation, in our "past finalists now" section: they are currently working - often in key design positions - for some of the most respected brands around. Or they obtained sufficient visibility and support to launch their own brand.

Enrolling is therefore something we strongly recommend regardless if you are chosen as a finalist or not. Though if you are, the opportunities will be amazing. Your work will be showcased in front of the most important international press, it will end up in magazines like Vogue or Dazed and Confused. You will have the chance to sit down and chat with personalities of the likes of Viktor & Rolf and Renzo Rosso during a 4-day event with no boundaries whatsoever between contestants, press, juries and guests. Finalists will also become a part of our CREATIVE ARCHIVE. A protected reserve for talent, a permanent showroom that collects and displays a piece of work from each and every finalist of ITS. A visual history of young creativity in the past 11 years, open to visits from the press, companies, designers, photographers, style office directors and everyone else who visits us throughout the year. An archive that is alive and expanding year after year. A one-of-a-kind, permanent showcase of your work.

And we haven’t even mentioned the over €100,000 in cash prizes... It would be foolish to miss such a chance, but you’re not going to miss it, right?

Every edition of ITS has a concept around which we develop all of our communication materials as well as the look of the location set-up in July for the finals. The concept image for ITS 2012 revolves around an apparently rhetorical and trite question that, in its simplicity, makes us ironically think: how many times are we driven to express an opinion? In a time when we are overwhelmed with images, words, news, opinions, it's increasingly harder to judge, to choose. In an era in which everything seems easy, the era of free will, in a time when we express our opinion with a click or a tap, in a time when we are in close contact with everything that happens around the world, we are increasingly driven to ask ourselves what approach must we choose to grasp the deeper meaning of GOOD and EVIL.

So what you will see during this year will be lots of images "judged" and labelled as GOOD or EVIL, and each assumption will be supported by a motivation, as ironical as it's clearly futile and superficial. ITS itself (no pun intended...) will be defined as GOOD or EVIL. Topics will range from themes closer to ITS - the fashion world, photography, creativity, schools, etc - to the most peculiar and varied objects. We will also use many images coming from past finalists' portfolios: something we always do, an excuse to show their work again at the international level.

We've also completely re-structured our newsletter, giving a totally new layout and aiming even more at giving you the freshest and most interesting news about young creativity, monthly! Easy to read, easy to access. Hopefully, not something you wished to end up in your spam bin! You can click here to subscribe! And do not forget we are also on Facebook: every day we post new contents, so it really is a live update on what happens in our offices, including info on the event and links to directly enrol in the competitions from Facebook!

So welcome to ITS 2012! Be curious, surf around our website and discover the news, read about the projects, see what it's all about, but most importantly...do NOT miss the chance!
