ITS website has been restyled

January 16, 2004

Here we are, ready for a new paradox … ‘ceci n’est pas une pipe’ is Magritte’s most philosophical painting, it refigures a pipe, stating underneath that it is not a pipe, leaving it up to the onlooker whether to believe the object real through its representation or not to believe it real because it is a representation (more or less, philosophy is not a piece of cake, you know)… we are doing a little bit the same here, we have a restyled website that you can see for yourself right now all over the screen and we are talking about it … Is it real… it gets even more complicated than Magritte (hardly possible..) because we are in the quintessential kingdom of the virtual, a website. So our words are here but they are not ceci c’est pas ITS.. or is it? It is maybe its other face, something separate from the 3 days event culminating in a fashion show, something which is always here, an invisible pulsing heart, beating constantly fed by intuition, inspiration and creativity, fed by ITS talent, the heart in the heart, our database of young creators, bigger and richer every year, real faces (by the way competitors, send us nice photos in your entry forms because you might stay on the net forever!) and names featured through their work… ceci c’est pas ITS??? youmustabekiddin ?..IT IS ITS ITISITSITISITSITISITSITISITS…
Anyway. the most remarkable thing of the new webstyle is the lady to your left and her immaculate white dress. She is going to be the backbone of our graphic in all its forms, she has got a name as well, you know, she is called LITSy, a bit like Liz Tylor but not really. We love her because she is simple, essential and fierce, she is ‘interactive’ as well, her white dress is going to be covered time by time with extracts from the portfolios we will receive during the year. And she is alive too, in fact she is my secretary. You should see her, walking around the office in 2D, AS REAL AS IT CAN GET;)
