The impressive amount of submitted projects, the huge variety of represented countries and the amazing treasure of creativity and inspirations expressed in the portoflios let the jurors outline the trends appearing in this edition’s collections: “The influence from the Antwerp style has become omnipresent in collections all over the world. A strong return to nature prevailed concepts and could be found in different shapes and forms in collection, in particular insects were very present. Colours have brightened up with bold block print and florals. On a more peculiar note inspirations were taken from tiles and ceramics”.
A few days later, on April 20-21, thenew generation of ITS#PHOTO was chosen, 14 finaliststogether with the winner of ITS#PHOTOweb, the online contest (with a dedicated website powered by Develon) who became the 15th finalist of themain contest for photography (hoping to repeat the brilliant results obtained by Mashid Mohadjerin, winner of ITS#PHOTOweb at ITS#SEVEN who has been recently awarded a prize at the renowned World Press Photo Award).

Photographers have worked in many different directions this time. There was a higher quality in the artistic/conceptual projects - which displayed very strong and carefully executed ideas – and less reportage than in the past. Colour, since many projects described personal points of view of the contemporary times we live in, had a stronger impact than black and white photography. There was irony in the treatment of social and introspective themes, and an affirmation of personal identity in relation to the surrounding world.
ITS#EIGHT willpresent the “EIGHT WONDERS OF THE MODERN WORLD” in Trieste, 10-11 July 2009, in the intriguing atmosphere of an early-20th Centuriesque carnival crowded by acrobats, magicians, side shows and more. IQONS, the world’s largest on-line fashion community, proudly offers its support by showcasing the ITS#EIGHT Event & ITS Finalists.
