ITS#NINE: The Finalists Are Chosen!

A new and fantastic voyage has begun for International Talent Support, the platform created and organised by EVE in collaboration with Diesel and YKK. The crew is made up of young international talents who will meet in Trieste, Italy, for the finals, 16 and 17 July 2010. The iconic designers Viktor & Rolf will enrich the jury panel, having confirmed their participation for the finals this July. A special occasion for ITS#NINE finalists who will get to meet the Dutch designers who have for many years been among top favourite designers nominated by thousands of ITS applicants.

On 15 and 16 April in the EVE headquarters an international jury made up of professionals and insiders viewed the hundreds of projects arrived from 80 countries. 12 projects have been chosen for ITS#FASHION and 10 for ITS#ACCESSORIES (discover the finalists). The jury was composed of: Barbara Franchin Director of EVE/ITS, Bernadette Wittmann founder and head of BWG, Deanna Ferretti Maglificio Miss Deanna, Elisa Palomino Fashion Designer and Vice President of Design for Diane von Furstenberg, Mandi Lennard, Mandi Lennard, Director, Mandi's Basement, Kat Nadj UK HR Manager Gucci Group Services Ltd, Sara Maino senior fashion editor Vogue Italia/Vogue.it, Valentina Maggi Floriane de St. Pierre and Vladimiro Baldin Creative Centre coordinator at Diesel and fashion designer Kei Kagami for the selection of the accessories finalists.

The impressive number of portfolios that once again arrived from the whole world allowed EVE to identify the directions where today's young talents are headed, finding the common trends of creativity coming from the most diverse latitudes, that will be staged on the catwalk and in the exhibitions ITS#NINE (see more images).

A return to the body as a starting point for the construction of outfits, seeing volumes, prints and colours toned right down to greyscales with small hints of blue, yellow and red. Strong inspiration taken from birds, many appearances of nature in particular insects. Scars and clothes with open wounds suffering and healing. Double even triple heads or masks and covered heads incorporated into outfits (read more about trends).
