The Fantastic Winners of ITS#NINE!
This edition is over, attention already on next year...See you at ITS#TEN!
International Talent Support
Trieste 16 - 17 July 2010
The Confederation of Fantastic Voyagers announces its winners! International Talent Support, a platform created and developed by EVE in collaboration with Diesel and YKK, was able to strike over 400 guests once again. In the beautiful "Salone degli Incanti", transformed in a retro-futuristic steampunk spaceship to match this year's flamboyant concept, ITS#NINE celebrated this year's most amazing young creativity on 16 and 17 July 2010 searched out by ITS all over the world. A network of 880 schools, over 7300 portfolios from more than 80 nations, over 340 finalists supported throughout their career, 651 journalists from 35 countries representing 624 magazines, producing more than 1750 articles and 43 TV shows in 65 countries. Support and job opportunities provided in companies such as John Galliano, Christain Dior, Antonio Marras, Roberto Cavalli, Vivienne Westwood, Alexander McQueen. Impressive numbers collected by ITS in nine editions.
The ITS#NINE "spaceship" literally "landed" on Friday 16 July, with the Vernissage of ITS#ACCESSORIES. A spectacular choreography on the location quay opened the doors of the location just as if it were revealing examples of the unknown collected from a fantastic journey through the universe: the accessories exhibition of the 10 finalists' projects! Huge metallic cogs, time capsules, steam-powered devices, tubes and cable wire everywhere were part of the set-up created by Belinda De Vito. Projections hinting at engine rooms and sounds devised for an immersive experience, together with the wonderful videos produced by Fabio Bressan shown on the 26 x 6 metres videowall completed the picture.
On Saturday 17 July it was time for "takeoff". With a fashion show in front of all of the ITS#NINE guests and the local Institutions of Trieste, the incredible projects of the 12 ITS#FASHION finalists were revealed. "Boarding cards" for the fantastic voyage were delivered to everyone with safety procedures in case of emergencies, just like a real flight. It was instead a surreal and irresistible journey through the highest expressions of creativity, the icing on the cake represented by the Diesel project show: 12 outfits specifically produced in denim by the finalists.
One of the peaks of the evening was the presentation of next year's Anniversary, ITS#TEN. Master of Ceremony Victoria Cabello together with the Director of EVE/ITS Barbara Franchin called on stage Trieste’s mayor Roberto Dipiazza and Diesel President Renzo Rosso. Together they launched a video introducing ITS#TEN. In the intentions of EVE it will be a never before seen celebration of creativity involving the whole city.
In the same dates of ITS#NINE Trieste hosts an exhibition dedicated to Raffella Curiel, Fashion's Intellectual. From 5th to 30th July the "Museo Commerciale" in the town centre exhibits a selection of outfits from the ITS#ARCHIVE, the "protected reserve for talent" created by EVE collecting over 150 outfits, accessories and hundreds of photography projects from all of the editions of ITS.
