ITS#SIX: FEEL THE BEAT OF THE MAGENTA HEART International Talent Support Trieste, Italy 12 - 14 July 2007
The magenta heart of ITS#SIX-International Talent Support keeps on beating faster and faster. Once again, the project created and developed by EVE, in cooperation with ITS' presenting partner DIESEL, accessories partner YKK and photo partner MINI to support young creatives, caught the attention of the international press, opinion leaders, renowned fashion designers and people from the fashion industry.
12 - 14 July 2007 Trieste, Italy, became a melting pot of young creativity. The event opened on Friday 13th with the ITS#ACCESSORIES and ITS#PHOTO Vernissage, meanwhile on Saturday 14th, all eyes were on the fashion show - make-up by Patricia Milton and hairstyling by L'Oréal Professionnel - which was accompanied by the sound of the DJ group Electrosacher and surrounded by fascinating scents created by IFF (International Flavours and Fragrances). The young ITS#FASHION finalists also had the opportunity to produce their creations with some exclusive innovative fabrics offered by ITS' new technical supporter Punto Seta, whereas Salvatore Ferragamo Italia Spa produced the prototypes of the shoes designed by the ITS#ACCESSORIES finalists.
ITS#FASHION. On Saturday night, 22 collections headed into competition at the Olde Fish Market. In this year's location the darkness of the black shiny surfaces reflected kaleidoscopic images scattered with fragments of creativity. After meeting the finalists and viewing their portfolios and their collections, the jury chose the winners: Fashion Collection of the Year, was awarded to Ek Thongprasert, Thai, from Hogheschool Antwerpen. Diesel Award went to Taro Horiuchi, Japanese, student at Hogheschool Antwerpen, and was awarded by Wilbert Das, creative director of DIESEL. Fashion Special Prize went to Migle Kacerauskiene, Lithuanian, student at Vilnius Art Academy. Ek Thongprasert, Thai, from Hogheschool Antwerpen, chosen by the audience, was awarded with the Develon Award. Vertice Award went to Heaven Tanudiredja, Indonesian, student at Hogheschool Antwerpen.
Aitor Throup, winner of ITS#FIVE Collection of the Year, captivated the audience closing the fashion show with his eagerly awaited collection, a new bewildering fashion vision entitled The Funeral Of New Orleans.
ITS#ACCESSORIES.Susanne Happle, from Royal College of Art, won Accessories Collection of the Year, and the YKK Accessory Award went to Liron Braker, Israeli, from Shenkar School of Engineering and Design. Anna Sheldon, British, from Cordwainers received the YKK Special Award, her accessory will be the star of a brand new advertising campaign, i-D Styling Award and Maria Luisa Award were won by Justin Smith, British, student at Royal College of Art.
The jury that selected the winners of ITS#FASHION and ITS#ACCESSORIES was composed of: Wilbert Das Creative Director of Diesel, Sophia Kokosalaki Fashion Designer, Elisa Palomino Head of Roberto Cavalli Studio, Maria Luisa Poumaillou Maria Luisa Boutique, Colin Mc Dowell Senior Fashion Writer The Sunday Times Style and Founder of Fashion Fringe, Isabelle Aout Style Office Director Maison Martin Margiela, Kullawit Laosuksri Editor in Chief ELLE Thailand, Maria Luisa Frisa Fashion Curator at Fondazione Pitti Discovery and Director of undergraduate programme in fashion design IUAV University of Venice, Daniela Fedi Journalist "Il Giornale", Deanna Ferretti Maglificio Miss Deanna, Aitor Throup Winner of "Fashion Collection of the Year" at ITS#FIVE and Barbara Franchin Director of EVE/ITS#SIX. The ITS#FASHION jury was joined by Kei Kagami Fashion Designer, Alberto Pierotti Salvatore Ferragamo Italia S.P.A and Heather Blake Winner of "Accessories Collection of the Year" at ITS#FIVE to award ITS#ACCESSORIES winners.
ITS#PHOTO. Jing Quek, Singaporean from SVA-School of Visual Arts, was awarded with the MINIInternational Photo Award. The brand new Pitti Immagine Photo Award went to Maria Giulia Giorgiani an Italian student from I.S.I.A. and to Jing Quek, Singaporean from SVA School of Visual Arts; whilst May Heek, Dutch from Hogeschool Voor De Kunsten Arhem, was awarded with the SVA Photo Global Award. The ITS#PHOTO jurors were: Denis Curti Director of Contrasto (Milan) and Artistic Director of ITS#PHOTO, Gianni Berengo Gardin Photographer, Carl De Keyzer Photographer MAGNUM PHOTOS, Anne Urbauer Editor in Chief of MINIInternational, Cecilia Dean Editor of Visionaire, Remigiusz Prydol Winner of ITS#PHOTO for MINI at ITS#FIVE, Maria Teresa Cerretelli President of G.R.I.N., Aranza Belliard Advertising Manager MAGNUM PHOTOS France, Enrico Bossan Director of Photo Dept. Fabrica and Maria Luisa Frisa.
