YKK reinforces ITS#ATTACHMENT
|
From the Earth's oceans and into space, YKK fastenings can be found in every environment known to Man. With a production line of billions of fastenings and fastening parts per year, YKK produces an enormous variety of zips, snaps & buttons, textile and plastics.
That's why at YKK we say, "Little parts. Big difference"- these little products hold so much together. Without them the world would look a very different place. Quite literally, YKK bring places and spaces together.
Once again the doors have been flung wide open for accessory designers to showcase their skills at an exhibition space in July 2008, Trieste, Italy. YKK returns for ITS#SEVEN as partner of ITS#ACCESSORIES, the only contest of its kind in the world entirely dedicated to accessories.
Applicants must design a series of accessories, including at least three specially created using YKK products. For inspiration YKK will make a DVD. Created together with last year's 'YKK Special Award' winner Anna Sheldon, this DVD will include information about the YKK competition and animated fastening demonstrations.
There will also be interviews with previous winners & established professionals. Interviews that explain how different designers use different YKK products in their own unique way. Watch these interviews on www.ykkeurope.com .
In addition, YKK will establish contact centres in London, Paris, Milan, Frankfurt, Barcelona, Istanbul, Sao Paulo and Tokyo. Applicants can arrange appointments at these contact centres to talk with fastening experts about their concepts and the YKK product range during the competition entry stage.
Applicants who have created the best designs will be chosen by a pre selection jury in April. These finalists will then be invited to come to Trieste, where their selected works will gain serious visibility and exposure at a specially created exhibition space.
At this event there will be the chance to win prizes; Accessories Collection of the Year and YKK Award to name but two. With 10,000€ prize money and a professional photo shoot for the winning accessory, the YKK Award is a competition prize worth thinking seriously about.
